Alabama Red Okra
Seeds gathered right here at Whitewater Creek Farm from Alabama Red okra grown in our Southern garden. This striking heirloom loves our summer heat and produces deep red pods on tall, vigorous plants.
We grow it for both the kitchen and the flower field — the young pods are edible, while mature pods are beautiful dried and used in fall arrangements. It also readily reseeds, making it a wonderful old-fashioned Southern garden favorite.
