I first discoverd the Mexican Sunflower - also known as Tithonia - about three years ago. It’s not a great cut flower, but it’s still a true garden treasure.

Nothing In my garden attracts more pollinators - especially butterflies - than this plant. Beyond that, it’s both drought and heat tolerant (perfect for our humid climate, right?!) and practically invincible: no disease, no pests, just nonstop blooms.

And here’s a bonus - if you let a few flower heads go to seed, the birds will thank you all winter long, and you’ll have plenty of baby Tithonia sprouting up come spring.

So how about It - will you be adding Mexican Sunflower to your garden next year?
